The line is declared "clear" when all firing is completed and rifles are grounded with clear barrel indicators (CBIs). This procedure is essential for ensuring safety on the range. Once all shooters have finished firing, the rifles must be rendered safe and secured with a CBI, which visually indicates that the rifle is not loaded. In contrast, just leaving the firing area or ending the shooting schedule does not guarantee that all firearms are safe or that proper protocols have been followed.
